  • Fortnite now on Xbox One PS4 PC Mac and mobile

Epic Games, who developed the last-man-standing type game, is now working to make the game compatible with iOS devices initially, before integrating with Andriod.

Through its official website, Epic has announced that Fornite Battle Royale will be available for mobile devices and tablets, retaining the same elements: same map, same content, same weekly updates and, of course, games to 100 players. Shortly thereafter, players will get an email with a code that can be redeemed on the App Store.

iPhone 6S/SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad 2017 devices or later.

The developer of the now leading shooter game "Fortnite" has recently revealed the mobile game version, which may have just solidified their place as the top game in the battle-royale genre.

The game will support cross-platform play, with the press release touting console-quality graphics across all platforms. There will be cross-play between PC, PlayStation 4, and Mac, with iOS players going up against Android users when the game is available for them.

The signup program for the iOS version of Epic's "Fortnite: Battle Royale" has begun.

"New invites will roll out as the servers can handle more players", Epic explained in a recent blog post.

Xbox One players can play with PC, Mac, and mobile. However, you will likely be in a Fortnite universe only populated by other iOS players, so there is that.

On Microsoft's side, they appear to be wholeheartedly for cross play, and regularly put the proverbial ball in Sony's court.

However, not all players will get a link immediately - and you could be left waiting for weeks, or even months. But the game's developers changed tack after witnessing the huge success of multiplayer online game "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" (PUBG). This has hindered the true cross-platform dream of Xbox users playing with PlayStation users. According to Phil Spencer, he's keen on the idea of cross-platform functionality between the rival consoles.
