Parliament logjam: BJP on Fast to Save Democracy

  • BJP's income up by 81.18% Congress's suffers from fall ADR report

"It was embarrassing to see Saamna criticising the fast and a Union minister sitting on stage with BJP".

Charging the Congress with dividing the people over caste, creed and religion, BJP President Amit Shah on Thursday said the ruling party in Karnataka will stoop to any level to retain power but will not succeed this time.

Prominent among those who joined the sit-in were BJP's national general secretary Arun Singh, party's Odisha unit president Basant Panda and legislature party leader Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo. Hemanth Kumar Gowda of Yuva Morcha and other leaders including S.K. Dinesh, M.V. Ramprasad and L. Nagendra were present.

Slamming Congress for disrupting Parliament, he said the opposition party has always been playing vote bank politics.

"We want the voice of the people to resonate across the country". What exactly have they done for Goans in Parliament?

The Modi-led fast by the BJP left the Shiv Sena in a tight spot on Thursday.

Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha and former Minister S.A. Ramdas led the BJP protest in front of the DC's Office in Mysuru this morning.

The Bharatiya Janata Party chief, who undertook the party's day-long hunger strike along with party's Chief Ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa and other MPs, said what happened in Parliament in March and April was "unprecedented".

So, where does it leave the roll call of luminary BJP Muslim leaders who have mutely watched as Hindutva-affiliated goons began Modi's tenure in 2014 with murderous assaults on the community, randomly picking on innocent members all over the country and killing them in the name of cow slaughter, love jihad, forced conversion, or hate crimes for just being a Muslim?

"Congress has become an expert in obstructing the Parliament. We made a decision to include the issue of panchayat polls in Thursday's programme as democratic rights are being throttled in Bengal", Mr Sinha said. However, due to the hectic poll schedule the duo could observe the fast only for an hour before leaving for Hubballi and Gadag districts.

Noting that Modi in his first speech as prime minister had said that his government was for the poor, backwards, women and youths, he said the BJP was committed to the welfare of people.

"The Congress party is losing its hold all over the country". However, the images of Congress leaders eating "chhole bhature" before the fast went viral resulting in deep embarrassment for the party.
