Robert Mueller's special counsel team has shared more than 40 questions they hope to ask President Trump about their investigation.
The questions deal mainly with Trump's high-profile firings of former FBI Director James Comey and his first National Security Adviser Michael Flynn; his treatment of Attorney General Jeff Sessions; and a 2016 Trump Tower meeting between campaign officials and Russians offering dirt on former presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
Mueller is investigating alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, possible collusion with the Trump campaign and whether the president has unlawfully tried to obstruct the probe.
Numerous questions obtained by The Times focus on the obstruction issue, including Mr Trump's angry criticism of Attorney-General Jeff Sessions' recusal from the Russian Federation investigation.
As per usual of late, House Intelligence Committee Republicans and Democrats issued separate reports last week with the GOP version declaring that there is "no evidence" of collusion between President Donald Trump, or his campaign, and the Russians.
Mueller also wants to know about the two publicly known occasions in which Trump moved to fire the special counsel, the questions show, according to The Times.
Perhaps the most intriguing question regarding possible collusion is about Paul Manafort, the former Trump campaign chairman. The Times said it obtained the list from a person outside Trump's legal team.
