Broadcast network coverage of Trump has consistently ranked as being around 90% negative, while Trump's job approval has ranged from around 35% to a recent spike near 50%. Why do we work so hard in working with the media when it is corrupt?

According to Trump, anything positive that is said about him is real, but everything negative is fake.

Instead of wasting resources covering bogusy White House press briefings, serious journalists could spend that time working actual sources to uncover and report bona fide news about the Trump Administration.

President Donald Trump returned to an old talking point on Wednesday by musing about taking away press credentials from news organizations that report negative stories about him, which he called "Fake News".

Shortly before, the anchors on "Fox & Friends" on Fox News discussed a study by the Media Research Center citing that figure after evaluating the nightly newscasts on ABC, CBS and NBC between January and April. The president is a longtime viewer of the show. How many news outlets would that impact? It doesn't mean I'd be nice to them. "If people aren't treating me right, I don't treat them right".

The president's tweets prompted an outcry on social media, including from Walter Shaub, the former director of the Office of Government Ethics. During that campaign, Trump took away press credentials from a few outlets that published uncomplimentary coverage.

While Trump's tweet teased the idea, the association's president explained the severe reflection on the president if the idea were to come to fruition.

Trump was still at is six days later, tweeting that '[n] etwork news has become so partisan, distorted and fake that licenses must be challenged and, if appropriate, revoked'.
