Walmart: Every single store in America will be giving away free donuts to customers. The offer is available while supplies last at participating locations. Not Christmas, the Fourth of July, or even Halloween, but National Donut Day. Customers can get up to six free doughnuts, but you'll want to get there early before they're all gone. Walmart has free doughnuts for all customers too.

National Doughnut Day started in Chicago in 1938 as a fundraiser for The Salvation Army and the event has grown in popularity ever since.

Duck Donuts, which has a Lehigh Valley location at Tilghman Square in South Whitehall Township, will offer one free classic donut Friday, including bare, cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar. All you have to do is enter for a chance to win prizes including the honorary title, $5,000 and a year's supply of doughnuts.

The better deal from the Dutchman is this - buy a dozen donuts Friday and get a half dozen free. They also allow patrons to add their favorite toppings and create their very own custom doughnut, according to the business' website. The shop is hosting a celebration from 7 a.m.to 8:30 a.m. The company plans to give away 1.2 million doughnuts throughout the day, KNWW reported.
