  • Where's Melania? First Lady has not been seen in public for 24 days

-North Korea summit from behind the scenes, handles the delicate preparations by keeping details from President Donald Trump out of fear that he will tweet about them, according to a Monday CNN report.

A reporter for the U.S. website the Daily Caller also tweeted footage of Mrs Trump's arrival at the event for Gold Star families - parents of slain soldiers - hosted by the Trump administration.

"She is going to do this job her way", McBride said of Mrs. Trump.

It's the second year the Trumps have opened the White House to Gold Star families.

First Lady Melania Trump made her first public appearance in almost a month on Monday after undergoing a medical procedure in mid-May.

Beneath the graphic, the newsletter specifically stated that she is expected to attend an event on Monday to honor Gold Star families.

The event, a private East Room reception for more than 40 Gold Star military families, was not in and of itself an unusual activity for the first lady of the United States. Twitter was abuzz with theories from political observers, both on the left and the right, with a public anxious to see their first lady.

Questions surrounding Melania's absence grew increasingly loud in the last week, prompting the first lady to snipe at the press for inquiring about her.

"To all those who have lost loved ones in service to our country, our nation grieves with you", her statement read.

The White House announced May 14 that she had been hospitalized to treat a kidney condition described as benign.

"I see the media is working overtime speculating where I am & what I'm doing", Mrs. Trump tweeted.

She has stayed out of public view since returning home on May 19.
