Kevin Love Wants to Finish His Career With LeBron James on Cavs

  • Dub Dynasty: Warriors sweep Cavs for second straight title

Going out West to Houston, Los Angeles or even worse, Golden State, would be tempting; but if LeBron can stay out East and put NY in the Finals next season, it would be a miracle.

To some, the Golden State Warriors third National Basketball Association title conquest in four finals appearances may not be a dynasty in the sense that it still lacks the third consecutive title that the Lakers of the ‘50s, the Celtics of the ‘60s and the Bulls of the '90s.

So what is LeBron going to do? They would have been swept a year ago if not for hitting 24 of 45 3-point shots in Game 4 at The Q to win, 136-117.

"I have no idea at this point", James said. I've always said that.

They have now won two NBA Finals in a row and three of the last four. I've got a teenage boy, a pre-teen and a little girl that wasn't around as well.

"I feel like it's easy to be the best player when you don't have good players around you". LeBron has to notify the team of his intentions by June 29.

How will LeBron balance the desire to rack up rings (or at least chances at them) as he chases the ghost of Michael Jordan and his National Basketball Association legacy with what would be the best lifestyle for him and his family?

There will be plenty of teams looking to add James to their roster beginning next season.

The Boston Celtics are 7-1 and the Los Angeles Lakers, another suitor, are the 14-1 fifth choice. LeBron and Paul George could team up to create a new version of the showtime Lakers days.

If Paul stays with the Rockets, Houston becomes the closest thing to a favorite on my scorecard, no matter how complicated it would be for the 65-win Rockets and their general manager, Daryl Morey, to orchestrate the requisite salary-cap gymnastics to bring James in.

Despite willing one of the poorer Cavs sides to the Finals, James was unable to make a fourth consecutive meeting between the two sides a competitive one as many believe he will now join a side capable of beating Steve Kerr's men.

James would instantly give the Trail Blazers the rebounding presence and late-game scorer they sorely lack.

"Knowing that it's a business - I know that's cliché to say - take it in stride", Love said.

"There were two games that were very winnable", Cavs coach Tyronn Lue said in his postmortem after Game 4. The thought process is that James would prefer not to play with Kevin Durant or former teammate Kyrie Irving as joining either team would require them to be traded. Sure, LeBron has mentioned in the past that he wants to transition more to an off-ball role as he gets older, but pairing him with a ball-dominant player like Westbrook doesn't seem to make much sense. The initial rule prevented players from signing four or five-year deals that extended into their age-36 season. But I like to be here. It always does. It's also good to be wanted. "We just won back-to-back". "But after a game like that, I'm not in any position to talk about that".

The more you really think about this possibility, the more far-fetched it gets. Love, in his fourth season with the Cavaliers, nearly expects it. So I don't know. "I think I've shown this year why I will still continue to be in championship mode". But I have a lot of knowledge of the game.
