Four people were airlifted to a hospital in Florida and five others were taken to Princess Margaret Hospital in Nassau, on New Providence Island, Bahamas, Knowles said. Her lower legs had to be amputated and she suffered a spinal injury. Officials have not yet released the identities of the victims.

Stacey Bender, Stefanie's mother, suffered multiple broken bones and internal injuries, while Brooke Schaffer and Paul Bender, Stefanie's sister and step-father, escaped the incident with bruises and cuts. Stefanie also requires surgery on her spine for an L1 lumbar disk fracture.

A GoFundMe page was created by the Schaffer family on Sunday to raise funds for medical and travel expenses.
