Elon Musk has announced that he will be sending engineers from both SpaceX and The Boring Company to Thailand tomorrow to try and help rescue the Wild Boar soccer team that remains trapped inside a flooded cave.

Though rescuers found the group after nine days and they have received food, blankets and medical attention, it is still a risky dive and scramble through four kilometres of tunnels where they are trapped in - as they can not swim or dive.

He has now designed a plan to help save the boys, and he said engineers from his companies would travel to Thailand on Saturday. He initially deferred to the Thai government, but nonetheless offered to help. He claims that two divers will be able to carry the creation, and its size will allow it to fit through narrow gaps to navigate the cave system.

So far, around 1,000 people have got involved in the rescue operations, including navy divers, military personnel and civilian volunteers, as reported by the BBC.

Musk tweeted on Saturday: "Some good feedback from cave experts in Thailand".

But Thai authorities had already began there rescue efforts before the vessel was completed without Mr Musk's help.

Rescuers have been navigating a risky and complicated plan to get the children out under the threat of heavy rain and rising water underground.

The tubes and pods are being built in the USA, a spokesman said.

There are already dozens of Thai Navy SEALs and global experts trying to find a way to save the 12 boys and their soccer coach at the Tham Luang Nang Non cave complex, where Musk is sending the engineers.

Several of Musk's companies could potentially be put to use rescuing the boys, including the radar location technology from the Boring Co. and SpaceX, plus drills and pumps to drain water and high-power Tesla Powerwall battery packs. They became trapped inside the Tham Luang Nang Non cave, which is believed to be about 4-5 miles long.
