Jorginho and Maurizio Sarri deals almost done

  • Chelsea expect to appoint former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri as Conte's replacement

While Conte took charge, Moses was not among the lot, as Chelsea's non-World Cup 2018 players returned to their Cobham facilities on Saturday morning for their first pre-season training session and standard procedure medical checks.

But away from that complicated saga, Chelsea are now closing in on their first piece of business.

But the sight of Conte returning to pre-season training for the 2018/19 campaign has seemingly confirmed a couple of things: that, amazingly, Chelsea have kept Conte on as manager and, secondly, that Willian will seek a new club immediately.

The agreement with Conte is in place and Sarri now expects his appointment on a three-year contract worth around £5.6million a year after tax to be ratified on Monday.

Despite his quality, Rugani struggled in his efforts to become a regular starter for the serial Serie A winners with Giorgio Chiellini and Andrea Barzagli among those he has had to compete with for a starting spot.

The Mirror also say that David Luiz depart Chelsea for the second time.

Chelsea have now entered the fray for Jorginho, pushed forward by prospective new manager Maurizio Sarri.

The Brazilian has not played for the club since February after a fall-out with Conte.

Sarri guided Napoli to a 2 place finish in the Serie A last season nearly winning the Italian title but the Partenopei replaced him with Carlo Ancelotti.

That, after all, is just how the club works.

The Stamford Bridge club have been looking to sack Antonio Conte all summer but have run into several problems.
