Prime Day is only open to Amazon Prime subscribers, so if you're not a paying member, you won't be able to take advantage of the discounts.

Amazon didn't create the concept of "Christmas in July" or "back-to-school" sales, but its annual Prime Day shopping holiday has spawned annual "Black Friday in July" sales from rivals who feel compelled to follow its lead in setting the date of their own sales.

Amazon has been teasing its millions of deals for a little bit already, but we've yet to see any specifics about what products would be on sale or what prices they would be at.

There is now a deal on offer which includes 4 months of Prime Music for just 99p, which is usually £9.99 a month, or £7.99 a month for Amazon Prime members.

For the avid reader out there, Prime Day will be the best day to get an e-reader, with the price getting cut by a third.

However, sale items have already started to surface on the site, with bargains including discounts on Prime video rentals, purchases and channels, and 20% off the company's AmazonBasics range. "Returns to Amazon often require you to pay shipping, so be aware of this cost when ordering items you aren't sure about". Pacific, you'll need to be a Prime member to partake of the deals. Prime members buy more from the online retailer than non-members do, mainly because they're looking for ways to maximize their paid subscriptions after signing up to watch a movie or TV series.

As an added bonus, Amazon is offering a Kindle Unlimited three-month subscription for just 99 cents - nearly 97% off its original price of $29.97. Amazon Prime yearly subscription is now $119, with benefits including free and faster delivery times, access to Amazon's streaming services, and Prime-specific discounts.

Customers will also get 30 percent off Amazon brands like Happy Belly baby food and Presto! bathroom and kitchen products.

Launches from Indian startups: Members will get exclusive access to launches from Indian startups under Amazon's Launchpad program, such as anti-theft backpacks by RoadGods and Alexa-enabled smart bulbs by Mansaa.

When you cancel a paid Prime membership you may automatically receive a refund. You just have to know where to look.
