The image also highlights that the Galaxy Note 9 will not ditch the 3.5mm audio jack and will sport a dual rear camera setup just like the previous year launched Galaxy Note 8.

Mainstream smartphone manufacturers finally seem to be running out of steam as far as design innovations go, giving Samsung the flawless opportunity to shake up the market.

The Galaxy Note 9 will likely make its official debut on August 9th, but as is usually the case with hotly anticipated phones, images of Samsung's next big thing have leaked out ahead of the event.

Samsung typically releases its new Galaxy S lineup in late February at the annual Mobile World Congress (MWC) trade show.

The Samsung device may be ready to roll as soon as the beginning of next year.

Samsung typically keeps its launches of the Galaxy S series of phones to the early part of the year, and this shouldn't change with the Galaxy S10.

A folding phone would also require more advanced components, leading to a more expensive device for consumers, according to the Journal.

We expect the device will have similar popularity to other high-end speakers with little known smart digital assistants, such as the Harman Kardon Invoke.

The patent that was published in the WIPO database was requested by Samsung Electronics on April 24, 2017.

It could lead to a handset that can easily transform into a tablet - simply by unfolding it.

Samsung could finally be planning to make their rumored folding-screen phone a reality. Below the camera one can find the fingerprint sensor and the Samsung branding. When folded, the device includes a smaller "display bar" on the front, allowing users to use the device like a phone.
