Barr Says Her 'Political' Tweet was in Response to Obama's Iran Deal

  • Roseanne Barr talks with Fox News talk show host Sean Hannity while being interviewed during a taping of his show Thursday

"But no, I did not know she (Jarrett) was black", she said.

Another pathetic apology. Barr offered an apology followed by another diss when she was asked by Hannity to apologize directly to the former Obama adviser. Barr said her godson's father called her after the tweet and said, "I love you no matter what you do".

When pressed by Hannity about what she would say to Jarrett if the two spoke on the phone, she said, "Let's talk about it. Let's really turn this into a teachable moment". "That's what was in my head".

Explaining the Jarrett tweet, Barr said she was calling for "accountability" from the Obama administration over the Iran nuclear deal, given her views on Israel and her opposition to the country's stance on LGBTQ rights and women.

When given a number of opportunities to apologise directly to Ms Jarrett, Barr said: "I'm so sorry you thought I was racist, and that you thought my tweet was racist".

"I thought it was part of the - you know, what was put before me to do". "Why, you ask? Well, the answer is simple: Because I voted for Donald Trump, and that is not allowed in Hollywood". I mean, seriously, she needs a new haircut'. "I never meant to hurt anybody, or say anything negative about an entire race of people, which think 30 years of my work can attest to".

"I'd want her to hear my voice, that I am so sorry", she told Hannity.

"Plus I'll tell her, she's gotta get a new haircut", Barr added.

"Roseanne's moving on from saying sorry after her latest attempt didn't go so well, and has a message for people who don't appreciate her jokes - 'F**k off".

Barr again said that she was stunned when ABC first contacted her about the tweet.

Barr paused. "Well, we can't talk about that", she said.

She has since apologized for the tweet but continues to protest the decision. In a recent YouTube video, she screamed about Jarrett, "I thought the b***h was white!"

During the hour-long interview, Roseanne reiterated her regret and insisted that rather than being deliberately racist, her tweet was just poorly worded.

Her explanations have shifted nearly since the controversy began. And then everyone started saying I was a racist, which is like the worst thing you can call a Jewish person, especially someone like me, who grew up with Holocaust survivors. "I could fight this".

In a live sit-down with Fox News' Sean Hannity Thursday, the 65-year-old actress said her tweet was simply political.
