  • Someone's just won $522,000,000 on the U.S. Mega Millions lottery

For matching four white balls plus the Mega Ball, 102 tickets won the game's $10,000 third prize Tuesday night.

This year, 20-year-old Shane Missler of Port Richey won a $451 million prize on January 5, and Richard Wahl of Vernon, N.J., won $533 million on March 30.

The winning numbers were 01-02-04-19-29.

The lone-winning ticket for the $522 million grand prize was sold at a San Jose liquor store.

The one-time cash option is just over $308 million dollars. Tickets for Mega Millions are valid for one year from the drawing date. The store will receive $1 million for selling the winning ticket, the Los Angeles Times reported.

No one had hit the jackpot since May 4th. "You see the guy [cashier] is smiling at me".

Meanwhile, two tickets worth $1 million were sold in New Jersey.

The Mega Millions jackpot now reverts back to $40 million. "It's really exciting. It's wonderful to see the jackpot climbing and to see people involved and engaged in the drawing and the possibility of winning". If the victor takes the lump sum, the cash payout is worth $303 million.

The game is played in 44 states, including MI. "People are coming and buying tickets a lot every day it's increasing", Food Mart manager Mohammad Hussain said.

The ticket was bought at Dynasty Liquor on Puritan Street in Detroit.
