  • Police in Missouri respond to possible Mollie Tibbetts sighting

Her name is Mollie Tibbetts, not Molly Tibbetts.

The family of a 20-year-old college student who disappeared in Iowa two weeks ago is now offering $172,000 to help bring her home. Her family reported her missing the next day after she didn't show up for work. He said she stayed at his Brooklyn house alone and watched his dogs. She hasn't been seen since going for an evening jog on July 18 in Brooklyn, a community of about 1,400 people where she was living.

The family said no information is too little when it comes to tracking down Tibbetts.

Asked whether they're investigating Tibbitts' disappearance as an abduction, Winker said they are treating it as a missing person case. We're looking for you.

More than 200 leads have been collected as part of the investigation, police said.

The latest came Thursday, when police confirmed that a possible sighting of Tibbetts at a Missouri truck stop turned out not to be her. Collum has joined hundreds of other volunteers in searching the area's cornfields and buildings for Tibbetts. "I can not comment on if there are suspects or persons of interest".

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation told KCCI that the agency weas aware of the possible sighting and was investigating it, but they gave no indication of whether they think it's legitimate or not.

"She's out there. We feel it. We are hopeful that she is still alive and so we will continue to think that way until told otherwise", Rahn told ABC News last week.

Dalton Jack is interviewed by ABC News' "Good Morning America", from Brooklyn, Iowa, Aug. 3, 2018. Mollie Tibbetts' mother, Laura Calderwood, believes she may have been abducted.

WQAD's fellow ABC affiliate KCRG in Cedar Rapids is reporting a heavy law-enforcement presence on a rural stretch of highway in Poweshiek County that could be related to the disappearance of Mollie Tibbetts.

But he said, "I'm confident we have a solid timeline that we're working on" - though he added that they weren't releasing that information just yet. "I don't know that I have the strength in me, but Mollie is lending me her strength every day, every night".
