  • Angelina Jolie Says Brad Pitt Hasn’t Paid ‘Meaningful’ Child Support

Angelina Jolie, 43, is done with being married to Brad Pitt, 54, and she wants their divorce to be finalized as soon as possible, according to a new report.

It is unknown at this time what - if any - informal agreement Jolie and Pitt had arrived at prior to this filing.

Meanwhile, Jolie is also urging the judge to issue a final divorce decree this year to legally restore her single status, reports TMZ.

Angelina Jolie is claiming in court documents obtained by CNN that Brad Pitt is not pulling his weight when it comes to child support for their six children. They have six children for whom she is seeking primary custody. "As of present, [Pitt] has paid no meaningful child support since separation", Jolie's attorney, Samantha Bley DeJean, writes in the legal documents.

The divorce filing, citing irreconcilable differences, triggered a bitter custody dispute during which Pitt was investigated and cleared of child abuse. He was also accused and then acquitted of child abuse - the initial cause of their separation back in 2016.

In California, child support is decided between the parents, so it's unclear what "meaningful" means in the context of two ridiculously wealthy celebrities - especially when your kids are so kitted out in designer brands that an average outfit costs the same as a university degree.

"This happened because Brad became fed up and said he wanted to start the formal process of divorce again and filed papers to do that", a source allegedly close to Pitt told Page Six, calling it "nothing more than a publicity stunt", the Los Angeles Times reported.

Both actors are said to be keen to "work out the details of the divorce", but they have been "unable to reach an agreement that they are both happy about".

She asked the judge to arrange a meeting to discuss the issue.

The children have been living with Jolie with Pitt allowed visitation.

The divorce became contentious nearly immediately after it was announced in September 2016, when Pitt was first accused of roughly handling one of the children on a private jet.
