Bears trading at least 2 1st-round picks for Khalil Mack

  • Could Raiders WR Martavis Bryant start in Week 1

Mack is now holding out for a new deal and has kept a very low profile amid all the whispers of a potential trade and a potential long holdout.

Details of the Chicago Bears trade for Khalil Mack are starting to emerge and according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, GM Ryan Pace parted ways with at least two first-round picks to secure the superstar.

The Oakland Raiders would have a gaping hole on their defense with the loss of Khalil Mack, but are suffering more by continuing to have him on the roster. It is expected that Oakland will receive two first-round picks and a player. It is expected that Mack will be the highest-paid defensive player in National Football League history, just a day after Aaron Donald signed his record-breaking deal.

Trade talk had been hotting up, with New York Jets and Cleveland Browns also thought to be in the market for the 27-year-old defensive end, who had 10.5 sacks last season.

It appeared the holdout would last into the regular season, with Mack even tweeting on Friday that he would miss playing should he remain with Raiders.

While he's considered one of the most dominant at his position, he isn't being paid like it.

Sources: The #Bears are giving 2 first-round picks to the #Raiders for star Khalil Mack. With Gruden open to dealing Mack, there was no way Davis was going to veto him after giving him $100 million to coach the team.
