Police officers confirmed the actor was arrested for a misdemeanor assault and is now being held at New York Police Department's 6th Precinct station house in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, according to Page Six. The alleged incident took place just months after he was photographed allegedly pushing a man against a auto near NYU's Greenwich Village campus.

The "30 Rock" sitcom actor, 60, "assaulted someone for a parking spot that they were both going for", NY police department detective Sophia Mason said.

A representative for Baldwin has not yet responded to CNN's request for comment. Said Trump: "I wish him luck".

Baldwin has also had several other run-ins with the general public that did not involve law enforcement.

We're told Baldwin became irate, an argument ensued, and Baldwin punched the man in the jaw.

On Twitter, Baldwin tweeted out the name and badge number of the person who arrested him, stating that NY has become a "carnival of stupidity" where revenue-hungry police incriminate people for things that were once thought as harmless.

Baldwin was in police custody Friday afternoon after the incident.

In 2007, the infamous voicemail he left for his daughter caused a lot of controversy after he called the then 11-year-old a "rude, thoughtless, little pig". He is now at the 6th precinct and charges are pending.

In November, the "Saturday Night Live" star landed in lockup once again.

In 2011, Baldwin got booted off an American Airlines flight at LAX when he refused to turn off his phone because he was playing Words with Friends.

Baldwin was also photographed in an apparent public altercation with paparazzi in NY in 2013.
