'Just Ask Hillary': 'Outnumbered' on Impact of Oprah, Hollywood on Midterm Voters

04 November, 2018, 21:12 | Author: Angel Logan
  • Oprah Winfrey

The discussion began with a focus on Oprah Winfrey and the rousing speech she gave on Thursday for Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams (D). I'm not trying to test any waters.

"I see that same potential in Stacey Abrams", the vile message continues.

Kemp's office says that eligible voters on the "pending" list can still vote if they bring a proper ID that substantially matches their registration information.

"For anybody here who has an ancestor who didn't have the right to vote, and you are choosing not to vote - wherever you are in this state, in this country - you are dishonoring your family", Winfrey said in Marietta, Georgia, an Atlanta suburb.

"I said, when we were watching it, 'If that women can get folks to eat pizza with a cauliflower crust on it, she is going to get that woman elected the first black female governor.' She took people to church", the co-host added.

Kemp told the packed crowd of supporters that the race for governor was a simple choice: one between continued economic prosperity under Republican leadership, or a turn to "socialism" under Democrats. Vice President Mike Pence had the ideal response by channeling Will Ferrell in "Anchorman".

As a black woman, Winfrey noted her kinship to two groups historically denied ballot access in the United States. And so I promise that every single person who votes for Stacey Abrams, you're going to get a new auto!

She said: "I paid to come here myself, and I approved this message".

Also rallying behind Ms Abrams is former president Barack Obama and Hollywood names such as Will Ferrel and Mark Ruffalo, who have all campaigned in the midterm elections runup.

Abrams, a former minority leader in the state house, who would be the first non-white, non-male governor of Georgia and the first female African American governor in USA history.

It is also a fact that Brian Kemp is the last person who can be trusted on cyber security given his record of leaking the personal information and social security numbers of six million Georgians.

Videos uploaded to Ms Winfrey's and Ms Abrams' social media showed the television personality knocking on doors canvassing for the hopeful governor.

"You get a vote!"

"Down here in Georgia y'all going door to door". "I absolutely am voting for her", Denise replied. "Do you have an early voting plan?"
