  • WA steer stands at almost 2 metres and weighs 1.4 tonnes

An Australian cow is going viral for its utterly-impressive size.

Knickers, a Holstein Friesian breed cattle, stood approximately 194 centimeters or 6 feet and 4.4 inches tall, and weighed around 1,400 kilograms. "I wouldn't be able to put it through a processing facility", he told the outlet.

Instead, he'll live out his life on the farm, where he's become a natural leader among the other cows. That title, according to the Guinness Book of World Records, belongs to Bellino the bovine of Rome, Italy.

Speaking to the Daily Mail Australia, he said: "He was always a standout who stood above the rest".

His name came about because another cattle Pearson had at the time - a Brahman steer - befriended him. "I think we just need to let him settle down for a little bit", he said.

The 7-year-old Holstein-Friesian is 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 1.4 tonnes.

Though Knickers' owner did mention that, unlike other steers, 7-year-old Knickers was given the "opportunity to grow to their full potential".

Knickers looms above the thousands of other cattle that he feeds with in rural Western Australia.

"Steers are usually destined for slaughter by the age of three", said Craig Hickman, a dairy farmer in Ashburton, New Zealand, who added that almost everyone he knows has been sending him reports about Knickers. "Whenever he wants to get up and start walking there's a trail of hundreds of cattle following him".
