Girl's Letter to Steph Curry Changed How Under Armour Sells His Shoes

Riley Morrison, a 9-year-old from Napa, loves the game of basketball and at the top of her list of role models is Stephen Curry. "My dad and I visited the Under Armor website and were disappointed to see that there were no Curry 5's for sale under the girls section".

Curry explained to Riley that the smaller sizes were mistakenly labeled as "boys" on the website, a mistake that he assured her was being corrected.

With that, fans also want to emulate their hero by copying his apparel by donning his latest footwear - the Curry 5's.

That wasn't all: He invited her to a game. As Riley noted in her letter, the Under Armour site offers a number of Curry 5 colorways for boys, including the option to customize, but there are none for sale under the girl's section.

Though the Warriors aren't in first place, their game against the Raptors tomorrow looks like a matchup of the best two teams in each conference.

And people say the art of letter writing is dead.

Can't miss first: The Raptors led by as many as 18 points in the first quarter, their biggest advantage of the night, and were up 38-25 after 12 minutes.

Furthermore, Riley will not only receive a pair of Curry 5's and Curry 6's for her efforts, but the basketball star issued a mysterious invitation to join him in Oakland for a special event on International Women's Day.

Steph Curry returns to action after sitting out for nearly a month.

But Curry takes equality for women very seriously. In an August opinion piece for the Players' Tribune, Curry wrote he hoped his two daughters - one of whom is coincidentally also named Riley - could "grow up knowing that there are no boundaries that can be placed on their futures, period".

"I want our girls to grow up knowing that there are no boundaries that can be placed on their futures, period. And I want them to grow up believing that they can dream big, and strive for careers where they'll be treated fairly".

She concluded with a plea for Curry to address the oversight.
