Everton at their strongest in my tenure, warns Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has hit back at recent criticism of his side ahead of Sunday's Merseyside derby against Everton. In the games we have won we were always the better side. Yes, we could've scored more goals, creativity.

Liverpool are unbeaten in the Premier League this season but will be determined to return to winning ways following their 2-1 defeat against PSG, in which Shaqiri featured as a substitute.

"The improvement of Everton is obvious".

"Analyse Everton and then tell me it will be an easy game".

"I get that you have to write about things, no problem, but write it and don't ask me about it because I'm not interested about it, I don't think about it and I can't answer it".

Something Jurgen Klopp must address for the clash is his team selection.

Dejan Lovren has been getting a run of games in the middle of defence recently but I think Gomez could move-in alongside Virgil van Dijk with the Croatian worldwide dropping to the bench.

Klopp will be without suspended captain Jordan Henderson for the game, and has challenged the rest of the squad to step up in his absence.

"It was a long time ago, we need to look forward and we need to give the new players a bit of a taste of what it's like to win one of these games, and the fans as well", Coleman said.

"We went to Chelsea to win and proved we can win".

Under Marco Silva, Everton are one of the most improved teams in the league - but his first Merseyside derby is a very different test for him.

"It's a fact, but I can say to (the players) that always these type of records, they exist to break", he said when reminded of Everton's results against their neighbours.

"I can't say to the boys, 'We've fixed things at the back but we're not doing enough offensively.' That would be insane".

"I want them to play the match to win".

"We can take some confidence from the way we played at Chelsea".

"We won't change our ambition or style of play".

Henderson (one) and Milner (three) were the only Reds players to register a key pass at the Parc des Princes, a lack of dynamism in the middle of the park was deemed key to their defeat.
