  • Kyle Korver

Korver spent two and a half seasons with the Jazz between 2007 and 2010.

Cleveland traded Korver to the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night.

The Cavaliers traded away F Kyle Korver to the Utah Jazz for two future second round picks and SG Alec Burks. In his final two games in a Cavs uniform, the win against Houston and the loss against Minnesota, Korver knocked down a staggering 9 of 12 (75 percent), demonstrating to the league that at almost 38 years old, he's still among the league's most unsafe shooters.

Now a former member of the Cavs, 16-year veteran Kyle Korver is waving goodbye to the city of Cleveland.

ESPN first reported the swap.

Korver put up 6.8 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists with the Cavs this year - his lowest totals since his rookie season. Tristan Thompson for one, noted the respect the organization showed Korver by sending him back to a familiar spot, just like the Cavs did for Dwyane Wade last season by shipping him back to South Beach.

Burks carries a salary of $11.5 million this year, the final year of his deal.

The Cavaliers are in asset-acquisition mode, starting the season 4-15. Emotionally speaking I would liked to have seen Alec Burks given that chance to prove himself while wearing a Jazz jersey but logically I have to say this was a sound pick up for the Jazz. Utah entered Wednesday's game 29th in the National Basketball Association in 3-point shooting, making 31.9 percent.

As far as the Jazz are concerned, their offensive troubles have led them to a 9-12 record - the second-worst mark in the Western Conference and just a year removed from a semifinals appearance.
